From April to September, we are supporting a targeted awareness campaign to help identify prostate cancer earlier.
We are focusing on Black African men aged 45–74 (up to their 75th birthday), as this group has a significantly higher risk of developing and dying from prostate cancer. Around 1 in 4 Black men will be diagnosed in their lifetime.
As part of this campaign, the practice will be proactively contacting eligible patients to offer a discussion about prostate health. This will include:
- Understanding the PSA blood test
- Discussing the benefits and limitations of testing
- Reviewing any relevant family history
This is an opportunity to make an informed decision about your health.
If you are contacted, we encourage you to take part in the discussion.
Together, we can help improve awareness and support earlier detection.
